Eating Crow
When you first do realize
that you’ve made a mistake
with sorrow in your eyes
you have amends to make
You can’t afford to wait
should immediately be done
for there is no debate
with forgiveness to be won
If crow you must eat
it’s much easier to do
go and grab a seat
let them serve it to you
While it is still warm
eat every little bit
to repair any harm
at their table sit!

Degrade My Soul
No, I will not permit
no, no I won’t allow
any man to ever get
the best of me somehow
I won’t allow him to narrow
or my eternal soul to degrade
it’s worth more than a sparrow
to Whom its price has paid
When He has forgave and forgot
the persecutors and thief that day
then another man I will not
hate for what things they say
He can cheat and lie
everything from me steal
with a tear in my eye
I’ll give him my last meal
He won’t make me hate
this I refuse to do
even if it’s my fate
to suffer my life through
For my soul’s worth more
than losing it for an emotion
because the One I adore
has shown me His devotion!
