Planning Our Dreams
As we sat swinging
and planning our dreams
I remember we hatched
all these crazy schemes
Felt we were flying
high on cloud nine
That all our plans
would work just fine
Where the place was
we wanted to live
And the great life
to each other give
In a big house
with fenced in yard
Where all our children
could run, playing hard
We’d have a fireplace
with bear skin mat
Along with a dog
and maybe a cat
What silly young fools
we were back then
We knew nothing about
being women and men
Life was much better
when still a dream
And we could pretend
all peaches and cream
But blessed by God
we’re still in love
That’s the best dream
I could ever think of!
