‘Twas A Full Moon
‘Twas a full moon
you said to me
“We need time apart
I think you’ll agree”
As my heart sank
to my stomach’s pit
All I could think
was “This is it!”
I could not breathe
and began to cry
Where would I go
just wanting to die
How in the world
could you do this
As you say goodbye
followed with a kiss?
“It’s not the end,”
is what you said
Yet to my heart
seemed you were dead
But seven years now
have come and gone
And our true love
has carried us on
To a happy marriage
as husband and wife
With each other to hold
the rest of our life!

Week 7 Theme: Love and Love lost, Submission #2
I Have Found
It’s in your arms
comfort I have found
When I’m in need
you wrap them around
It’s in your eyes
beauty I have found
For on a pedastel
my feet you’ve ground
It’s in you words
your gentleness I’ve found
To be so great
it truly does astound
It’s in your heart
my place I’ve found
And it is forever
our love shall abound!

Guard My Baby Dear
Angel of the Lord
guard my baby dear
That she’s in danger
is what I fear
Build a huge hedge
of protection around her
Let no evil thing
against her to occur
This is my plea
to God I pray
That you His angel
be sent right away
For you are charged
to guard and protect
In all good faith
that’s what I expect
And my dear Lord
thank You in advance
For I know with You
he doesn’t stand a chance!

In My Enchanted World
In my enchanted world
fairies are always there
They fly around me
from out of nowhere
Many glad tidings do
they bring to me
Come with different gifts
from each little fairy
They make me happy
when I am sad
My enchanted world is
best to be had
When the real one
brings too much pain
This world of imagination
does always me sustain!

Imprisoned
Can’t keep me imprisoned
in this cell forever
For I will escape
you’re not that clever
The time will come
that I get free
And then it’s gone
that I will be
You have the control
over me right now
But won’t last forever
this is my vow
Although you tell me
your love is true
I’m not a possession
that belongs to you
Putting me in chains
won’t do any good
My freedom will come
just as it should
For Almighty God does
protect and shelter me
Until the day arrives
that He sets me free!

“Don’t Let Me Lose Control!”, She Prayed
The children screamed. The mother tapped the steering wheel as she waited for the bickering between children to cease. It didn’t. She turned around and yelled at them to stop and grow up. The whimpering six and eight year old continued to pull on the toy they both wanted to keep. The rain pelted against the window. The mother wanted the sun, she wanted summer to return. The children would be passed onto her ex-husband and she could enjoy the warming heat of the summer sun alone, in peace. The traffic was building up on the road and the children continued to shriek. With her nerves frayed she began smacking her hand against the horn.

“Don’t let me lose control!”
is what the mother prayed
“If I raise my hand
angel let it be stayed!”
As “Be quiet!” she scream
the children shrieked in terror
They’d pushed her too far
knowing this was their error
For pounding on the horn
had gotten her no more
Closer to where she wanted
than the next car’s backdoor
And only by the inches
did she go another mile
Seeing the wreck was ahead
mangled cars in a pile
The mother bowed her head
praying “God, please forgive me!”
Knowing that by His grace
they weren’t involved to see
The horror of those others
at the death and pain
That for a lifetime would
in hearts and minds remain
Turning to her children then
she said, “I love you!”
With teary eyes they said,
“Mommy, we love you too!”
