Stronger
God allows us trials
that muscles we build
to makes us stronger
and spirit be stilled
It may seem that
I am being absurd
but we need strength
here among the herd
When we are all
jostled and juggled around
without having any trials
where is strength found
With training for running
the heart’s made stronger
and the more we do
we can go for longer
So in your trials
remember it’s for muscle
and don’t let God be
lost in the hustle & bustle

Just Smile
When you are sad
even when you’re mad
can’t be that bad
smile you’ll be glad
When you wanna shout
don’t scream it out
for without a doubt
a smile turns it about
When your heart’s aching
and although it’s breaking
life is of your making
a smile’s for the taking
Stress on you they pile
up higher than a mile
don’t your every grievance file
but instead give a smile
Go on be a sport
no need to resort
to a snappy retort
just smile with a snort!

Once we begin to flee the things that threaten and burden us, there is no end to fleeing. God‘s solution is surprising. He offers rest. But it’s a unique form of rest. It’s to rest in him in the midst of our threats and our burdens. It’s discovering, as David did in seasons of distress, that God is our rock and refuge right in the thick of our situation.
Yet I will rejoice in the LORD, I will joy in the God of my salvation.
