The Native American Indian Lived

Long ago the Native American
lived as a proud Indian

Earth was their Mother
wildlife were sister or brother

Great Spirit in the sky
Father to which they cry

As round the fire they prance
performing their rituals in dance

To beating of a drum
were the chants they’d hum

Understanding the true enormity
of living life in harmony

Together a tribe would band
to care for their land

Grateful for Mother’s yield
from wildlife to field

They lived not in haste
and nothing went to waste

And ‘twould yet be so
if white man didn’t show

Up on their shores
while carrying diseased spores

To spread across the land
and massive lives demand

That once it was begun
the Native Americans were overrun

As no warnings we’d heed
they became a dying breed

With the land in devastation
forced to live in alienation

In the place that did belong
to the Native Indians all along!

This Day’s Thought From Monday & Tuesday

This Day's Thought

Prayer Requests

Nothing is more beautiful than our Lord’s forethought!  He was always thinking ahead of the disciples.  When He sent them to prepare the Passover there was found an upper room furnished and prepared.  His plans were not only for that day.  He was always in advance of time!  When the disciples came back from fishing, Jesus was on the seashore with a fire of coals and fish laid thereon.  In the morning he thinks of the day, before you are astir!  After the resurrection, the disciples were bewildered and the way looked black.  But the angel said, “Behold, He goeth before you into Galilee.”  He is always thinking ahead, preparing ahead!  “Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.  I go to prepare a place for you.”

This Day's Verse

For the Lord will not cast off for ever, but, though he cause grief, he will have compassion according to the abundance of his steadfast love; for he does not willingly afflict or grieve the sons of men.

Lamentations 3:31-33
The Revised Standard Version

This Day's Thought

Prayer Requests

Doth not all nature around me praise God?  If I were silent, I should be an exception to the universe.  Doth not the thunder praise Him as it rolls like drums in the march of the God of armies?  Do not the mountains praise Him when the woods upon their summits wave in adoration?  Does not the lightning write His name in letters of fire?  Hath not the whole earth a voice?  And shall I, can I, silent be?

Charles H. Spurgeon

This Day's Verse

Walk in all the way that the LORD your God has commanded you, so that you may live and prosper and prolong your days in the land that you will possess.

Deuteronomy 5:33
The New International Version

This Day's Smile

Children are not things to be molded, but are people to be unfolded.

Christmas Dreams of Children

 The Christmas dreams of children
are of Santa’s workshop

Where elves work frantically
all his sleigh to top

With gaily wrapped presents
for good girls and boys

All they could ask for
in stuffed animals and toys

Some deserving little girls
will get new baby dolls

When they pull the string
out to them it calls

And there will some
of the dreaming boys

Who receive the Nutcracker
as desired of his toys

That one enchanted eve
unto life will spring

Mounting up an army
in the playroom to bring

And save sister’s doll
this prince in disguise

Leading the Rat King
down to his demise

While sugar plums and candy canes
through sissy’s dreams all dance

Brother smiles when the Nutcracker
slays Rat King with his lance

As there on Christmas Eve
will the children dream

Until the morning’s light
does through the window stream!

For my children and grandchildren, I love you

The Perfect Flower

The two children searched
over hill and dale

Even after the day
did into night sail

Little girl and boy
spent hour after hour

As did the countryside
all their time devour

Until the silvered moon
stood above on high

And with the stars
brightened up the sky

Determined not to quit
though hope began to sour

Before they had found
the most perfect flower

Hues of yellow and red
in their radiance done

For it truly was
their mother’s favorite one

So you can imagine
their shouts of delight

When a field of sunflowers
appeared before their sight

As they ran to cut
the most beautiful one

For their lovely mother
who was second to none!

Tuesday Animal Laughs

Oh man, like wow
dude don’t have a cow

The dog looks really pissed
think he will be missed?

‘Cause we can always swear
we didn’t know he was in there!

Mom, please don’t go!
Promise I’ll be good!
Don’t just walk away
and leave me in the hood!
