The Package
With the snow coming down
and mounting on the ground
a package to be found
by the whomever came around
And so it was there
that the mother polar bear
did stop at it to stare
to wonder why and where
From which it did appear
for there were none near
in the silence ever clear
as at it she did peer
The decision then was made
like a child in an arcade
great joy by her displayed
for the gift at her nose laid
So she saw was fit
for her to open it
and what a surprise did get
with all her eyes then met
Santa had brought her meat
oh what a wonderous treat
for her children to eat
in their first Christmas feast!!

Wasted
When at the start of day
onto their face is pasted
Big phony smiles it seems
their lives are all but wasted
As through the minutes and hours
if to each goal is hasted
Where is there any time left
for the good things to be tasted?
When the pretense is always there
of having too much to do
And they don’t ever take time
as they go rushing on through
How will they see their life
are being voided as true?
Have not these same questions
ever also occurred to you?
What is the big hurry?
Names and faces become blurry
As they scamper and scurry
Through their world of worry
What blessings God gives you
And what with them you do
If your life be lived untrue
You’ve wasted it through and through!

Sunday’s Animal Laughs
Just show them to me! If they come too close
it’s the stars they’ll see!!

“Just wanted to give a shoutto all the animals out there!” “Well I can only wave back
’cause you know I just a bear!”

All
All the things I have seen
All the places I have been
All the things that came between
All the times my slate wiped clean
All the things I didn’t mean
All the times on You I lean
All my mistakes since a teen
All the drugs from which to ween
All the days with hands unclean
All the sins I left unseen
All the seedy place I shouldn’t have been
Since my life did once begin
With my childhood left therein
Coins in my cup of tin
As You took away my sin
Where would I ever try to begin
That peace be found there within
Attempts for recognition among the din
A life of freedom there to win
Stacked a mile on head of a pin
My soul contains them there in
Those things that led me into sin
Made excuses for it all
Every time I dropped the ball
The many times to me You’d call
When to answer I would stall
Then You weren’t my all-in-all
What I did must You appall
That I did have such a gall
With my back against the wall
Never on my knees would crawl
Until I took a massive fall
And made to You my final call!
