A Spot Of Tea

Image Credit: Chance of Sunshine: Cinderella On Her Tea Break

Cinderella took a break
to have a spot of tea

When a little birdie spake
as normal as can be

“I was just flying along
and spotted you down here

Could you sing me a song
if you’d be so dear?”

Which came as quite a shock
to Cinderella at the time

No that the bird did talk
but instead how he did rhyme

“I don’t want to seem dense
or anything of the such

Yet it doesn’t make any sense
to me all that much

Why would a song bird
want for me to sing

When a melody should be heard
in the tune you’re warbling?”

“Alas because I have no choice
for there’s a problem you see

I recently have lost my voice
and no warble’s left in me!”

As the birdie began to cry
Cinderella’s heart was broken

She said she’d give a try
then realized that he had spoken

“Now just wait one minute,
what’s this game you play?

If you’ve no voice in it
how did those words you say?”

Birdie then hung his head
and shook it to and fro

“Well the truth is,” he said,
“you won’t believe me I know!

But a wicked old witch has
cast a spell on me

And so a bonnie lass
must sing to set me free!”

“Oh you silly little thing
why didn’t you just say so

Of course for you I’ll sing
and back to yourself you’ll go!”

As Cinderella sang strong and clear
birdie became a prince no less

Who then said, “Marry me dear!”
 now Cinderella is his princess!

And Floaty Things

Butterflies and fairies and
all  floaty things

Are a fantasy made of
 in our imaginings

Where as marvelous as
they are magical

It doesn’t matter if
they are practical

For it’s all in
our mind’s eye

That these creatures
around us fly

Impish and teasing
with us they toy

In our imagining
of a whimsical joy

That only in the
heart of a child lay

When it is freed
just go out and play!

Cut Off

There have been many times
that I’ve felt cut off

When I’ve believed the world
does merely at me scoff

When I’ve been brushed aside
run over in their haste

Because it seems they think
what I’m doing is a waste

I feel like I’m dangling
high up above the pit

And the demons down below
are yelling, “Go for it!”

As an angel is whispering
“You can’t make it alone!

God has not left you
out here on your own!”

While there on other side
my dreams I can see

Are shining like a beacon
as a temptress luring me

And there lying in between
 a chasm, a great divide

While I teeter on the edge
as I’m trying to decide

“Don’t act a foolish imp!”
I hear my angel say

“For you know deep down
the answer and the Way

Don’t listen to any of
those voices down below

To fulfill all your dreams
you know where to go!”

Some Tuesday Laughs Via My Family’s FB Pages

Never Alone

Father, do You see me?
  Jesus, do You hear me?
    Spirit, are You with me?
Why do I feel so alone?

Father, do You love me?
  Jesus, do You know me?
    Spirit, are You in me?
Why do I feel so alone?

Father, are You up there?
  Jesus, do You really care?
    Spirit, are You anywhere?
Why do I feel so alone?

                   Their answer came to me:

Child, do you see Me?
  Child, do you hear Me?
    Child, are you with Me?
                                                                           You are never alone!

Child, do you love Me?
  Child, do you know Me?
Child, do you call on Me?
                                                                           You are never alone!

Child, I am always here!
  Child, I will always care!
    Child, you’ll find Me everywhere,
                                                                           You will never be alone!

I wrote this poem for my brother last year when his transplanted liver was failing on him and we didn’t know how much longer he was going to be with us.  He felt so alone and depressed one day when I was talking to him and after I hung up, I sat down and started writing.

That has been one year ago.  The doctors didn’t think that he would make it through to the new year.  They were wrong and have declared his “near perfect” liver of today a miracle!  That is the power of prayer and trust in God my friends.

I thought that in mind of the season, I would get this one out, dust it off and re-post it.  I hope you enjoyed it :)

Have a blessed and Merry Christmas with a safe and Happy New Year!!

Love,
Terri
