In Case I Fail To Visit You Somehow

After I did some posts earlier today, I pulled up my list of followers and have spent the last 2 hours trying to visit each one of you personally.  I have been wanting to get the time to do this for a while now but, given the season, I feel the need to hurry up and do it.

Therefore, I will be continuing this throughout the next couple of days in hopes to reach all of you before Christmas Day.  But, I am not going to fool myself into thinking that I will not lose track of what I’m doing  With my short-term memory problems, I feel safe to say that I may visit some of you more than once and you will have received multiple greetings and wishes from me and others I may accidentally skip over because I lost track of where I left off

Although I have learned to live with my limitations, it doesn’t mean that I’m not aware of them nor that I don’t wish that they didn’t exist.  I used to be highly organized, supremely focused, always giving attention to details, etc. and it drives me nut that my mind will no longer function in this manner!

With all of that having been said, I decided to inform you all of my plans and make a pre-emptive apology to anyone I may neglect in my “progression” through the list.

So here is my blanket Holiday Greetings to you all with my love!!!!:

 

May your Christmas hold more joy
than any year gone before

May you gather in love
with the Savior to adore

May His unending, splendid grace
keep you safe and warm

May the coming New Year
bring to you no harm 

May you be so blessed
that you just have to tell

The whole world far and wide 
how God treated you so well

And may you receive 
throughout this Christmas Season

All that you deserve
from this holiday’s Reason!!

Voices Heard

Today with the internet

our voices are heard

No longer must wait

for the written word

When everything is downloaded

don’t need the printed page

No more having tattered books

or turning down the page

What I am writing now

you’ll read in a minute

And other than my time

don’t have a dime in it

But all this does somehow

serve to make me sad

When thinking of the fun

in reading books I had

What to me they taught

of using my imagination

Seems to me is lost

on the internet generation

For when it’s all there

right in front of you

What then is there left

for your mind to do?

Guess it could be said

there is good and bad

In every new advancement

out there to be had

So make no mistake

of what I wanna say

Because of all these gadgets

I have this blog today!

Mother of Time

The mother of time

with her patience sublime

Just sits and waits

as every person skates

At break necked speed

her warnings without heed

Rushing through their life

ducking pain and strife

As they bob and weave

and plans for success conceive

It’s the driving force

how they set course

To go sailing on

until their time’s gone

Coming to their end

no longer can pretend

They have all the time

to learn reason’s rhyme

And what they find

is those left behind

Have no stories to tell

 how they spent life well 

For in their pursuit

of all evil’s root

‘Twas greed for more

they wasted their time for.
