Please cut me some slack
before I have a heart attack
And I begin to wail
over how I did fail
In my plan of action
to my worst dissatisfaction
‘Cause I’m running out of time
which is such a crime
For my personal visits to you
bit off more than I could chew
Of the will had plenty
but found there’s way too many
In a couple of days
to make well wish displays
And now I’m too busy
which is making me dizzy
Please accept my apology
if a visit you didn’t see
I thought that I could
my intentions were all good
So just let me say
to you all right here today

Standing on the shore
as waves crash around me
how I do abhor
what has come to be
I stare at the moon
as I consider eternity
and how much too soon
it will come for me
Thinking how you left
without a single word
has left me inept
floundering in the world
Feels like I’m dying
all broken up inside
tears I’ve been crying
over how you lied
Forever you did say
was how it would be
and now I just pray
for God to take me
‘Cause He’s the only One
Who loves me true
and after what you’ve done
run to Him I do
For I know at least
there is peace of mind
and a roaring beast
never there to find
So go on and run
I’m stronger than you
with the rising sun
are skies of blue

with His love today

On My Private Island – Free Write Friday

In my fantasy world
is my private island
Where everything is easy
for me to understand
Unlike the one here
when in all reality
Becomes way too much
to bear in its totality
I make my escape
to a magical kingdom
Where I have rule
over what does come
For it is there
that I am free
To be anyone that
I want to be
And on this Island
a joyous life live
Far from the one
of give, give, give
In my fantasy kingdom
everyone is kind
When I am there
I have peace of mind
Although I cannot stay
on this island forever
I find that when there
any storm I can weather
So I make sure
regularly to visit
And I really don’t think
that’s so bad, is it?
