Ticking Clock

It it by the clock
that we set our day

And it’s by the minute
that our lives tick away

There is no stopping it
before the one final click

Of our whole life’s time
off of it does tick

There are time-clocks for work
and a stop-watch for races

That measure all the time
we spend in certain places

But there is only one
that I am concerned about

 And what it will mean
when that time runs out

When there is in heaven
the grandest of all clocks

That is the soul’s ticks
and the eternal spirit’s tocks

So it is that there
while my time it measures

I pray what God see me
as one of His many pleasures!

Much Longer – Monday’s Hay(na)ku

Ever
have one
of those days?

When
all our
strength it displays?

Hide – Monday’s Limerick

We’re playing hide and seek
he said he wouldn’t peek
I don’t think that he
will ever find me
but I gotta take a leak!!

Blinded

title=”HORSE WITH HOOD” – photo via flickr.com by Martyn Hyde, Ireland, professional photographer:

Blinded in the world we live
to all that is unseen

Restlessly we take and give
while here in the between

Greedily do we go along
hoarding all that we glean

Leaving behind bread crumb trails
of everywhere we’ve been

As we all stagger through
our mundane life and day

The best we can hope for
is to better it some way

 But if all that’s done
does our own self betray

How does any of that
the meaning of life convey?

We are all put here
to accomplish a specific purpose

To make the world more
not leave it something less

When it is another soul
in this life we bless

Then no one can say
we didn’t share some happiness!
