This Week’s Picture It & Write; I’ll Never Forget
Where would the wind blow me to next? I had visisted countries from all over the world. Just when my crew would grow anxious after months at sea, we were granted with our destination. I loved experiencing the exotic incense, strange cuisine, mysterious languages, fantastical tales of another culture. The life of a traveler, a pirate, was one of riches and pleasure. My crew adored me. People embraced me with open arms, the merchants and the whores.
I stabbed the worn map with my dirty dagger. How much wealth could be drained from this petty harbour village? How many slaves could we chain on board? How many would beg for their lives this time?

I will never forget
when the raiders came
How I hid myself
crying in my shame
As I tried to peek
just a minute to see
If I could maybe spot
those in my family
-
I heard the people running
all throughout the field
Screaming out in their pain
of whips the slavers wield
As they chased after them
I saw none get away
It was in all mylife
the most horrid of any day
I followed in the shadows
down to the sea shore
Where they were loaded up
under the ships floor
When down they had gone
and no more left to see
I ran fast as I could
looking for others than me
But the village was empty
and I was all alone
So I ran to the ship
to let myself be shown
I didn’t want to live there
without all my family
But I died on that ship
that was the end of me.

Lenten Journey Day 39; Healed

31-Mar-12: Mark 10:32-34, 46-52
32 They were on the road, going up to Jerusalem, and Jesus was walking ahead of them; they were amazed, and those who followed were afraid. He took the twelve aside again and began to tell them what was to happen to him, 33 saying, “See, we are going up to Jerusalem, and the Son of Man will be handed over to the chief priests and the scribes, and they will condemn him to death; then they will hand him over to the Gentiles; 34 they will mock him, and spit upon him, and flog him, and kill him; and after three days he will rise again.”
46 They came to Jericho. As he and his disciples and a large crowd were leaving Jericho, Bartimaeus son of Timaeus, a blind beggar, was sitting by the roadside. 47 When he
heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to shout out and say, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!” 48 Many sternly ordered him to be quiet, but he cried out even more loudly, “Son of David, have mercy on me!” 49 Jesus stood still and said, “Call him here.” And they called the blind man, saying to him, “Take heart; get up, he is calling you.” 50 So throwing off his cloak, he sprang up and came to Jesus. 51 Then Jesus said to him, “What do you want me to do for you?” The blind man said to him, “My teacher, let me see again.” 52 Jesus said to him, “Go; your faith has made you well.” Immediately he regained his sight and followed him on the way.

Thank You All So Much! – Update on Dad
Wow, it’s been a long stressful day. As a matter of fact, the stress gave me a huge headache and so I slept for a few hours this afternoon while waiting for mom to call me back with a report.
The think that they have found the source of dad’s bleeding, an ulcer in his stomach. Praise God!!! Much less serious that what we had thought of as possibilities.
They will keep him under observation a treatment for a couple more days and then release him as long as everything goes well with the medication that put him on and the bleeding has stopped.
That’s what we know so far. Thanks for all your kind words and prayers!!! I am truly blessed by them and you all!!
Until tomorrow,
Terri
Off Site For Today – Urgent Prayer Needed
My mother called me a couple of hours ago to inform me that she had to take my dad to the emergency room last night in Florida.
He was extremely weak all day and by evening had become unresponsive.
They did blood tests and discovered his blood c0unt was so low that they had to give him 4 pints of blood to get it back up.
They are running tests to find out where he is bleeding.
My mother is the heart of this family, my father is the backbone; the loss of either of them right now would be devestating to us all.
Please say a prayer for my father that whatever they find is operable and easily fixed.
My entire family thanks you,
Terri
