Lenten Journey Day 17; Fights

9-Mar-12:  Acts 7:30-40

30 “Now when forty years had passed, an angel appeared to him in the wilderness of Mount Sinai, in the flame of a burning bush. 31 When Moses saw it, he was amazed at the sight; and as he approached to look, there came the voice of the Lord: 32 ‘I am the God of your ancestors, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.’ Moses began to tremble and did not dare to look. 33 Then the Lord said to him, ‘Take off the sandals from your feet, for the place where you are standing is holy ground. 34 I have surely seen the mistreatment of my people who are in Egypt and have heard their groaning, and I have come down to rescue them. Come now, I will send you to Egypt.’

35 “It was this Moses whom they rejected when they said, ‘Who made you a ruler and a judge?’ and whom God now sent as both ruler and liberator through the angel who appeared to him in the bush. 36 He led them out, having performed wonders and signs in Egypt, at the Red Sea, and in the wilderness for forty years. 37 This is the Moses who said to the Israelites, ‘God will raise up a prophet for you from your own people as he raised me up.’ 38 He is the one who was in the congregation in the wilderness with the angel who spoke to him at Mount Sinai, and with our ancestors; and he received living oracles to give to us. 39 Our ancestors were unwilling to obey him; instead, they pushed him aside, and in their hearts they turned back to Egypt, 40 saying to Aaron, ‘Make gods for us who will lead the way for us; as for this Moses who led us out from the land of Egypt, we do not know what has happened to him.’

What’s Wrong?

 

This is an e-mail from my nephew, the veteran.  Please excuse some of the wording but I am just giving it to you as I got it:

Someone please tell me what the HELL’s wrong with all the people that run this country!!!!!!

Republicans
&
Democrats

 
We’re “broke” & can’t help our own Seniors, Veterans, Orphans, Homeless etc.,???????????

In the last months we have provided aid to Haiti , Chile , Pakistan, Libya, Egypt and Turkey .. And now Japan
Literally, BILLIONS of DOLLARS!!!

Our retired seniors living on a ‘fixed income’ receive no aid nor do they get any breaks while our government and religious organizations pour
Hundreds of Billions of $$$$$$’s and Tons of Food to Foreign Countries!
We have hundreds of adoptable children who are shoved aside to make room for the adoption of foreign orphans.
AMERICA: a country where we have homeless without shelter,  children going to bed hungry, elderly going without ‘needed’ meds, and mentally ill without treatment -etc,etc.

YET………………..
They have a ‘Benefit’  for the people of Haiti on 12 TV stations, ships and planes lining up with food, water, tents clothes, bedding, doctors and medical supplies.

Imagine if the *GOVERNMENT* gave ‘US’ the same support they give to other countries.

Sad isn’t it?

99% of people won’t have the guts to forward this.
I’m one of the 1% — I Just Did
   
A veteran – whether active duty, retired, or national guard or reserve – is someone who, at one point in his/her life,
wrote a blank check made payable to “The United States of America,” for an amount of “up to and including my life.”

A sad but true statement.  Now our citizens all across the south are in desperate need for what we have sent elsewhere.  I’m not saying that charity is bad, it is required of us by God, but now the government and charity organizations will be hitting up the citizens for more money that we already don’t have due to the rising cost of living: medicine, gas and food.  God help us!

Always remember that Jesus died for us because He loves us!
