Lenten Journey Day 36; Light

Gentle as a lamb
He came as Light to a world
living in darkness

28-Mar-12:  John 12:34-50

34 The crowd answered him, “We have heard from the law that the Messiah remains forever. How can you say that the Son of Man must be lifted up? Who is this Son of Man?” 35 Jesus said to them, “The light is with you for a little longer. Walk while you have the light, so that the darkness may not overtake you. If you walk in the darkness, you do not know where you are going. 36 While you have the light, believe in the light, so that you may become children of light.”

After Jesus had said this, he departed and hid from them. 37 Although he had performed so many signs in their presence, they did not believe in him. 38 This was to fulfill the word spoken by the prophet Isaiah:

Lord, who has believed our message,

and to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed?”

39 And so they could not believe, because Isaiah also said,

40        “He has blinded their eyes

and hardened their heart,

so that they might not look with their eyes,

and understand with their heart and turn—

and I would heal them.”

41 Isaiah said this because he saw his glory and spoke about him. 42 Nevertheless many, even of the authorities, believed in him. But because of the Pharisees they did not confess it, for fear that they would be put out of the synagogue; 43 for they loved human glory more than the glory that comes from God.

44 Then Jesus cried aloud: “Whoever believes in me believes not in me but in him who sent me. 45 And whoever sees me sees him who sent me. 46 I have come as light into the world, so that everyone who believes in me should not remain in the darkness. 47 I do not judge anyone who hears my words and does not keep them, for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world. 48 The one who rejects me and does not receive my word has a judge; on the last day the word that I have spoken will serve as judge, 49 for I have not spoken on my own, but the Father who sent me has himself given me a commandment about what to say and what to speak. 50 And I know that his commandment is eternal life. What I speak, therefore, I speak just as the Father has told me.”

P.S.  Some people are having a hard time reading some of the poems written onto the pictures, therefore I will start putting the words underneath them as well so that every gets a chance to enjoy them.  🙂  Hope that will work it out for all concerned!

Lenten Journey Day 2; Confession

23-Feb-12:  1 John 1:3-10

3 we declare to you what we have seen and heard so that you also may have fellowship with us; and truly our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son Jesus Christ. 4 We are writing these things so that our joy may be complete.

5 This is the message we have heard from him and proclaim to you, that God is light and in him there is no darkness at all. 6 If we say that we have fellowship with him while we are walking in darkness, we lie and do not do what is true; 7 but if we walk in the light as he himself is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin. 8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. 9 If we confess our sins, he who is faithful and just will forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.

Stranger; 30 Day Letter Writing Challenge – Letter 6

Time now for the stranger
the one unknown to me

In the eyes of God
brother or sister you be

And even though you are
living your own reality

 Know that it’s the heart
 of us God does see

The heavenly Father above
knows both great and small

And His loving grace does
upon each of us fall

When God forgives our sins
He wipes from memory all

So when you’ve accepted Him
just remember to stand tall!

The Missing This Day’s Thoughts From Last Week and Today

Technical Update…we continue to experience some trouble with our e-mail sending systems and apologize for these difficulties.  Thanks for your patience as we try to address these issues.  Here are Thursday’s and Friday’s messages for those who did not receive properly…

God washes the eyes by tears until they can behold the invisible land where tears shall come no more.
Henry Ward Beecher

Beloved, if our heart does not condemn us, we have confidence before God; and whatever we ask we receive from him, because we keep his commandments and do what pleases him.  And this is his commandment, that we believe in the name of his Son Jesus Christ and love one another, just as he has commanded us.  Whoever keeps his commandments abides in God, and God in him. And by this we know that he abides in us, by the Spirit whom he has given us.
1 John 3:21-24  The English Standard Version

The holy heart can be hurt.  But it answers injury with love and prayer and forgiveness.
W. E. McCumber

My son, never forget the things I’ve taught you.  If you want a long and satisfying life, closely follow my instructions.  Never forget to be truthful and kind.  Hold these virtues tightly.  Write them deep within your heart.  If you want favor with both God and man, and a reputation for good judgment and common sense, then trust the Lord completely; don’t ever trust yourself.  In everything you do, put God first, and he will direct you and crown your efforts with success.
Proverbs 3:1-6  The Living Bible

The future is as bright as the promises of God.
Adoniram Judson

This Day's Thought

Prayer Requests

The Lord of the universe stands ready to pick up your life and give it significance, a sense of fulfillment beyond anything you have ever experienced.  Your heart has got eternity in it…and you will not be fulfilled until you know you are making an eternal difference with the one life you have.

Ron Hutchcraft

This Day's Verse

Jesus answered him, “If anyone loves me, he will keep my word, and my Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him.  Whoever does not love me does not keep my words.  And the word that you hear is not mine but the Father‘s who sent me.”

John 14:23-24
The English Standard Version

This Day's Smile

God warns us that seeking our own brand of contentment apart from Him is futile, for “the bed is too short to stretch out on, the blanket too narrow to wrap around you.”

God Tells You What You Need To Know Through Others

My “This day’s Thought” e-mail was this:

If a man carries his cross beautifully and makes it radiant with glory of a meek and gentle spirit, the time will come when the things that now disturb will be the events for which he will most of all give gratitude to God.

“So don’t worry about these things, saying, ‘What will we eat? What will we drink? What will we wear?’ These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers, but your heavenly Father already knows all your needs. Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need. So don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today’s trouble is enough for today.”

Matthew 6:31-34
The New Living Translation

How appropriate for all that I am going through right now!  God is so gracious!!  He speaks through others to give us a Word where and when we need it!  I almost cried with I read this.

And along with that, I was left a comment with a YouTube video on it that did make me cry but they were good tears.  Paulette is a new reader, along with her friend Pat who referred her to my site, and God sent them both here to befriend and uplift me!  I needed their friendship and words of encouragement desperately.  Thank you dear ladies!!  You are both gifts to me from Him!  I pray that He will bless you as richly as He has me!

I thought I would share this with you because I know there are others out there that probably could benefit from this as much as I did.  I love you all and cherish you greatly.

Always remember that Jesus died for us because He loves us!

With a heart of gratitude,
Teresa Marie

The Surrendered Life

The surrendered life is the careful life. The sanctified steward uses what belongs to Another and handles it very carefully against the day of accounting. On the other hand, the surrendered life is a carefree life. Losses that devastate the natural man are endured with amazing calm by the sanctified man, for how can he really lose what he has already relinquished?

R. B. Acheson

It is the surrendered life
that lives with greatest care
as on the edge of a knife
there is no caution to spare.

For His stewards are we all
in this world of His creation
and we will rise or will fall
on the seas of our expectation.

If this one thing we know
that to us nothing belongs
nor with us will it go
it becomes one of those songs,

That when you sing them out
they float up into the air
for all those who are about
to hear them as you share.

Then the surrendered life is free
when we’ve made this concession
that nothing belongs to me
all things are God’s possession.

When there is nothing to lose
what a wonderous thing it is
and we relinquish as we choose
to surrender what is His!

I Weep For You

In the depths of our sorrow
There seems no hope for tomorrow

With the many tears we cry
We are left to question why

That we lost so many dear
When the picture’s no longer clear

How we can make it through
Or know what next to do

When we wonder if God‘s there
And does He not even care

For all you feel is the pain
Will forever in your heart remain

But hear what Jesus is saying
With the love He is displaying

My children, I weep for you
I am mourning with you too

But not for those gone away
For they’re here with Me today

I weep for all of your grief
And your need to find relief

If you will run to Me
My comfort you will see

In My arms I will hold you
And wipe your tears away too

I’ll kiss you on the brow
As I make to you this vow

Come take My gift of peace
And from pain you’ll find release

As I wrap you up in My love
And show what awaits you above

You’ll not mourn for those gone away
For you’ll see them again one day!

Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart, wait, I say, on the Lord.      Psalms 27:14 (TLB)

So please, “wait on the Lord”
as this great king once said.
Let his wisdom to you afford
how not to lose your head.

Get started early in the morn’
while the day is yet new.
When the sun has been re-born
and the grass is covered with dew.

Now “be of good courage” too
it’ll make your burden much lighter.
So allow me to encourage you
live on the side that’s brighter.

Know you not fear’s a disease
that is painful to go through?
Where will you find your ease
when the devil is tormenting you?

Well, “he shall strengthen thine heart.”
Keep your focus on God above,
who does set his people apart
to receive His blessings of love.

Do you suppose it’s too hard?
Do you believe there’s no way?
Do you just give no regard
to what David had to say?

“Wait I say,” what’s the hurry?
Don’t you want to find out,
why you don’t need to worry
and free yourself from that doubt?

All fear grows like a weed
That got started in fertile ground,
on your worry it does feed
before you know it’s all around.

On the Lord you can depend
He will come to you anywhere,
as the close and loyal friend
that never fails to be there!

On Jesus you can always rely,
lift up your hands and pray.
If with your heart you do cry
He hears every word that you say.

Come to Him with all humility,
ask that He will forgive you.
For only Jesus has the ability
to cleanse your sins away too!
