“Oh, Monique, I am so grateful to both God and you for this!  I hate traveling alone as it is but to a whole other unfamiliar continent was very intimidating, not to mention the language barrier.  Besides all that, I wanted to have more time to spend with you too!  I think this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship!!  So tell me, what is God’s planned for us!”

“Well, to start with, you and I are to go tomorrow to a small village about two hours away from here to help an elderly couple who are being evicted from their home of 40 years.  They have no children or family left to help them and they have been praying without ceasing for a week straight.  They are almost out of food and ran out of their medications a month ago when Charles got hurt and could no longer work.  Marietta has always helped her husband on the farm and has no skill for a job outside the home.”

“Wait, Monique, how do you know all of this?  God told this to you?”

Monique laughed that angelic laugh of hers and said, “Not in so many words, He doesn’t always speak audibly.  A lot of times it’s visions or impressions, other times it’s like watching it on a movie screen inside my head.”

“Wow, that’s cool!  Okay, go on then.”

“When we get there, we are to give them all the money you have left in that wallet.”

“Huh?!  You know about the wallet too?  God told you?”

“Yes, He did, and I have some contacts in that area that I am supposed to use to help them find work.  We are to tell them the Father and Son heard each and every prayer that they said and were well pleased.  They are to worry no more for everything will be taken care of.”

“Oh, Monique, this will be something that none of us will ever forget!  Then what comes after that?  I don’t have to go home yet, do I?”

“There’s no one waiting on you to get back, right?”

“No, no one is waiting.”

“Well then, you will come home with me to stay until we get out next mission.  Would that be okay with you?”

“Are you kidding?!  It would be marvelous.  I so wasn’t ready to leave!!!  This will be such a grand adventure.”

When they finished eating, they had the waiter take their picture.  On the way back to the hostel to get Reggie’s things, Monique stopped and bought a scrapbook to paste the picture in while Reggie was inside the building.  When she returned with her suitcases, Monique was scrawling something across the front of the book and looked up at her with a huge smile on her face.

Then she raised it up, Reggie began to smile too as she read it, “The Chronicles of Monique and Regina’s Grand God Adventures” was the title she had given it…  The End

“Perfect,” Monique said as Reggie handed her the address, “I will pick you up there  shortly and we will have a marvelous conversation!!  I promise it won’t be boring.”  After which she flashed her the most brilliant and kind smile that Regina had ever seen.  At that moment she felt a surge of great love for this woman, Miss Monique D’bua.

With that being said, they parted company.  When she had returned to the hostel, she left a wake-up for two hours later.  That would give her plenty of time to take a quick shower and re-apply her make-up before Monique arrived.

Reggie fell right to sleep as soon as her head hit the pillow and awoke refreshed.  She was looking forward to dinner, not only because she was famished, but she truly enjoyed Monique’s company as well.

Just as she expected, Monique arrived promptly 3 hours later, at 5:30.  She said she  had a special restaurant that she wanted to take Regina to eat at, her treat!  As they exited the hostel, Reggie saw a stretch Limo was sitting there.  “Is that our ride?”

Monique giggled a little bit and nodded, “Yes, it is!  Do you like it?”

“Oh yes, very much so!”

“Well, it’s my husband’s money, you see, but he allows me to freely spend it!  He inherited a fortune from his parents when they passed on and then increased by at least 10 times after that.  It’s what you Americans call ‘ old family money’ that gave him his start.”

On the ride, they chatted about generalities; her trip, the people she had met, etc.  Reggie was quite comfortable talking to Monique by the time they were seated for dinner in their private dining room.

Monique flashed that brilliant smile at her again while saying, “I thought this would give us some privacy to discuss the coming events.  Besides, I just plain don’t feel like being stared at while we talk.”

“Okay,” Reggie replied, “since you brought it up, why don’t we get started  now?!  The suspense is killing me.”

“Alright then.  I prayed over it again while I was shopping to be sure that I got everything right and I was assured that I did.  First, I’m so happy to be a part of your journey because I have, first of all, made a new friend that I like very much and, second, because I have been praying for God to give me something to do with all these resources that I have at my disposal.”

Reggie was so excited that she was gushing, “You mean you are coming with me?!”

“Yes, I am for now anyway!” Monique couldn’t keep the elation from bubbling up any longer and began laughing uncontrollably when Reggie jumped up and started dancing around their private room.  Monique’s laugh was so sweet, it sounded like an angel, and very contagious.  Reggie decided she better sit down before she ended up rolling on the floor.

“Oh, Monique, I am so grateful to both God and you for this!  I hate traveling alone as it is but to a whole other unfamiliar continent was very intimidating, not to mention the language barrier.  Besides all that, I wanted to have more time to spend with you too!  I think this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship!!” …  to be continued

A wide smile spread across Monique’s beautiful face and she slung her arm through Reggie’s, like they were old friends or related.  “Shall we go over here to sit for a minute while we talk?”

“Sure.” she squeaked .

Once they were seated, Monique began in, “I was praying this morning and God started a two-way conversation with me about this  little “mission” that you’re on,” at which point she giggled a little, which instantly irritated her.

“What’s so funny?!” Reggie asked her, biting each word off at the end.

“Oh my dear, don’t be so sensitive!  I giggled because I can just imagine the joy you are experiencing while you’re doing this work for God!!  I would be hardly able to contain myself.  Of course people already think I’m, what’s the word, “quirky”?  Yes, that’s it!  People think I’m quirky enough as it is because I “claim” to literally talk to God but I have a whole slew of psychiatric tests to show that I’m not insane and, rather to the contrary, extremely intelligent. I don’t know why people find it easy to believe the prophets of the Bible talked to our Father but resist the idea of anyone doing it in today’s world!  Ridiculous!!  God never changes, we are the fickle ones.”

“Excuse me for being sharp, Monique, I guess I’m just tired and right now, I feel a bit insane.  I’m not used to these kind of things happening to me and have been wrestling quite a lot with myself over the idea of being “sent” by God.  At the same time, I don’t doubt that it’s happening because the people I’m suppose to help just keep popping up right in front of me!  It’s crazy, to say the least.  And, yes, I am enjoying it immensely, I must admit!!  I would love to get together with you later to chat, maybe over dinner?  But I need to go take a nap first.  Does what you have to tell me need to be done immediately or can it wait for a couple of hours until I’m rested and better able to absorb it?” Reggie asked with pleading, blood-shot eyes.

“Oh, again, I’m so sorry for my poor manners!  Of course you are tired.  It can definitely wait for a couple of hours.  I have some shopping to do.  Give me the name of your hostel and I will pick you up there in exactly three hours from now, so you can nap and freshen up a bit before dinner.”

Reggie smiled a weak smile of gratitude, saying, “That would be perfect!  I really do want to talk more with you when I’m rested.  Actually, I’m quite excited about the prospect of us have a long dinner to chat with each other.”

“Perfect,” Monique said as Reggie handed her the address, “I will pick you up there  shortly and we will have a marvelous conversation!!  I promise it won’t be boring.”  After which she flashed her the most brilliant and kind smile that Regina had ever seen.  At that moment she felt a surge of great love for this woman, Miss Monique D’bua…  to be continued

Reggie immediately felt more than she actually heard the amount of $1000, so she counted out 10 of the $100 bills and handed them to Suzette’s mother who was staring at her with tears streaming down her cheeks.  Caroline jumped to her feet and began hugging Regina and thanking her profusely!

Then she could have sworn she heard a whisper in her ear saying, “Well done!”

Not wanting to be praised for something that she had nothing to do with and unable to talk in German with them to explain it, Regina began walking back to her hostel.  Even though she was floating on cloud nine from the adrenaline rush of it all, Reggie was extremely exhausted at the same time.

Absently she wondered why there were so many people out and about on the streets, then she realized it was a Saturday.  She had lost track of what day it was   Then her thoughts quickly turned back to the current little journey she was on here on the European Continent.  Reggie marveled at the way that God had orchestrated everything so perfectly, but then again why not believe it?  After all, God is perfection, is He not?  Therefore His plans are as perfect as He is, ’cause they’re His….

She had not realized that she was carrying on this conversation with herself out loud until a lovely middle-aged woman walked up to her and began speaking, “He said I’d know who you were when I saw a brunette woman mumbling as she walked. so I just stood here and waited a few minutes and, sure enough, like always, you came strolling into view…”

“Excuse me for interrupting you but who told you I would be mumbling?” Reggie inquired of the lady with a most perplexed look on her face.  “And how did you know i spoke English?  Are you American?”

“I’m sorry, here I go rushing in again!!  Where are my manners, Father?!” she said matter of factly as she glanced towards the heavens.  “Allow me first to introduce myself, I am Monique; I’m from a very small town outside of Paris, France; no, I am not American but I studied at College there for 4 years and learn my English then; and, lastly, I was talking about God!  He told me that you would be mumbling.”

“God?!  Pardon me, please, but I thought you said God?” Reggie managed to stutter out, although her face was quite pale and she looked on the verge of passing out.
