picture it & write #35; Giselle

Round and round the little girl spun. Her ivory locks bounced as she twirled in front of the golden mirror. Light trickled through the stain glass window and illuminated only her in the barren room. Unstuck mortar crumbled off the aged bricks. It didn’t bother her because she was transfixed on her image. An angelic smile had been carved on her face, forever to stay. Months dissolved into years, and yet she stayed fixed to her image. Each step had to be perfected, every smile, and every twinkle of the eye. Round and round the woman spun, forever wishing to be more.

The Perfect Flower

The two children searched
over hill and dale

Even after the day
did into night sail

Little girl and boy
spent hour after hour

As did the countryside
all their time devour

Until the silvered moon
stood above on high

And with the stars
brightened up the sky

Determined not to quit
though hope began to sour

Before they had found
the most perfect flower

Hues of yellow and red
in their radiance done

For it truly was
their mother’s favorite one

So you can imagine
their shouts of delight

When a field of sunflowers
appeared before their sight

As they ran to cut
the most beautiful one

For their lovely mother
who was second to none!

Perfection is God’s Business

I am careful of one thing
which is not to ever confuse
that perfection to life I bring
when about it I have no clues

But excellence is within my reach
and what I do strive for
this is what my kids I teach
on earth we can’t do more

‘Cause perfection is the business
of God and God alone
a point that I do stress
 in creation He has shown

And so while I’m still here
it’s excellence that’s my goal
when I enter heaven it’s clear
 that perfection becomes my soul.
