Coulda, Shoulda, Woulda

I coulda, shoulda, woulda
 something we’ve all said

But don’t be the one
saying it ’til they’re dead

I coulda, shoulda, woulda
is easy to say

When we allow regrets
to sweep us away

I coulda, shoulda, woulda
people do often groan

But those are thoughts
to be left alone

I coulda, shoulda, woulda
is about the past

And if living there
remorse is wide and vast

When coulda, shoulda, woulda
goes through your head

Get rid of it
before you are dead

Take it to the Lord
lay it at His feet

Don’t go to your grave
broken down in defeat!

In The Looking Back

In the looking back
there is much regret

Over things I’ve done
upon my heart set

But that’s the same
for just about anyone

Every mother or daughter
any father or son

But I also see
the challenges I’ve met

When it was against
me everyone had bet

Because we all do
learn along the way

When living in regret
ourself we do betray

And that is why
God gave us grace

For all our regrets
His forgiveness does replace!

Haunted?

“Everyone has a past to deal with, but God wants you to realise that there is life beyond your past.”   – Eyob Kassa
Are you haunted by the past?
Will it not leave you alone?
Does your happiness fail to last
for seeds of regret you’ve sown?
No need to be that way
God wants you to realize
with the start of each new day
look into the clear blue skies,
To know there is a Life
that goes beyond your past,
leave behind regrets and strife
and into the fire them cast.
Go out and live each day
the way you wished you had
Then the past will decay
And life won’t look so bad!
