Do you wanna be somebody else?
Sick of feeling so left out?
Hate when they think that you
don’t know what you’re talking about?
Are you desperate to find something
more before your life is over?
Wanna stare up at the rainbows
while lying in fields of clover?
Are you sick of everyone around?
Wish they would leave you alone
with the big fake smiles that
look like they’re chiseled in stone?
There’s no one that really cares
what it is you are needing
all you get’s their superior lies
while deep down inside you’re bleeding!

bleeding inside, it is sad that way,
beautiful job showing it, 😉
Yes it is! 🙂
Yes, I understand that bleeding inside.
Yes, us too! 🙂
A very good poem. Simple and plain. These are the best kinds of poems; they speak too everyone.
Thanks Emmett! 🙂
This is beautiful,and very sad.
Nice one!
Thanks Chris! 🙂
So true the words in this piece really hits home. We always searching for something that void that has always been there but never found.
Absolutely! 🙂
your poem evokes the emotions of being entrapped, with an (here’s where a non-word should be invented: alterior) alternative POV.
This was how I would’ve felt as a teen…a the point where one begins to think for oneself, yet is still ”be-holding” to others (begrudgingly).
very good poem…I’m hittin’ the Like Button.
Thanks Tink! I appreciate it a lot and so will my daughter. Blessings, Terri
Internal bleeding is the worst … no one can see coz outwardly we smile and are all happy…
Amen! That is the truth too. Blessings, Terri
Very well done turn of phrases – they made me ache inside for the ones who feel that way at times – as I have. Good job with evoking such precise images.
Thank you Paula! We appreciate you comments and compliment greatly. Blessings, Terri
I can relate myself to this piece of art… skillfully crafted.
Keep the flow of words, on!!

RoHiT, Thank you so much for your kind words! Blessings…
Terri,
This is heart-wrenching. It reminds me of a very dark time in high school. May I suggest an epilogue? I would like to see the silver lining with this piece. 🙂
Nel, I think that may be possible. I will talk to Sara and see what we can come up with. 🙂 Blessings…
The pic together with the poem is powerful. Especially like these lines:
Are you sick of everyone around?
Wish they would leave you alone
with the big fake smiles that
look like they’re chiseled in stone?
Great write.

Yes, yes, yes and very true.
What a totally engaging piece, so glad I found it. Whatever your daughters input, it was making a good poem better.
Tino, Thanks for the kind words! This poem was a 50/50 effort. Sara wrote some lines down on a piece of paper and when I found it, I add mine to it. I think it turned out really well and she was very happy with the result too. Blessings…
Wonderful, heartfelt emotion! Excellent poem!
Paulo, Thank you very much! We appreciate the compliment. Blessings…
Really liked it..
